Tim Breene served on the World Relief Board from 2010 to 2015 before assuming the role of CEO in 2016. Tim’s business career has spanned nearly 40 years with organizations like McKinsey and Accenture where he was the Corporate Development Officer and Founder and Chief Executive of Accenture Interactive. Tim is the co-author of Jumping the S-Curve, published by Harvard Publishing. Tim and his wife, Michele, a longtime supporter of World Relief, have a wealth of experience working with Christian leaders in the United States and around the world.
Scott Arbeiter’s proven marketplace skills, pastoral experience, passion for mission and history with World Relief uniquely equip him for his role as President of World Relief. Scott was a partner at Arthur Andersen serving in a variety of functions over his seventeen-year marketplace career. In 2001, Scott resigned from the partnership to serve at Elmbrook Church in Milwaukee, where he became Lead Pastor. Scott has also served on World Relief’s Board of Directors for nearly a decade, including three years as Chairman. After finishing his term on the board in 2015 Scott became a consultant and advisor to World Relief Leadership. Scott has been married to Jewel for thirty-three years and together they have raised three daughters, Kelsey, Jacquelyn, and Karis, all of whom have grown to love and serve Christ in their own remarkable ways.

Before assuming the role of World Relief’s Chief Administrative Officer in 2016, Marco Bonilla’s professional career spanned over 35 years. Marco worked with multinational corporations including Deloitte, KPMG, Ericsson, and Tyco, in a variety of executive and management positions. He has also served—in the United States and internationally —as a consultant and executive adviser to Fortune 100 companies, governments, and large enterprises in Europe. Marco has a degree in engineering and a master’s degree in finance from the Wharton School. He and his wife, Linda, have three sons.
SVP of International Programs
Kevin Sanderson began working with World Relief in 1991 in Nicaragua. Since that time, he has been a key leader in the International Programs Division, as well as serving four years as the organization's Chief Financial Officer. His focus on agricultural value chains, organizational development and his many years of experience in the field of program design and management have allowed Kevin to engage diverse roles around the globe for World Relief. Kevin holds a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri. Kevin resides in Maryland with his wife, Alcira, and their two children.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Mark Reddy is a strategic thinker and cultural innovator with nearly two decades spent honing his craft of storytelling, casting vision and leading highly capable teams within various organizations including: Christian Media Australia, SPARC (Founders), Karbon (Founders), The Australian Christian Channel, Hillsong, Parachute Music, Easterfest, Compassion (Australia), CBM, Open Doors, Opportunity International, Hope Rwanda, Bible Society, Samaritan’s Purse and others. Mark also serves as the Executive Director of The Justice Conference. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Vickie, and their two daughters.
SVP of U.S. Ministries
Prior to becoming the SVP of U.S. Ministries, Emily Gray served for six years as the Executive Director of World Relief’s offices in DuPage County and Aurora, Illinois. She is a former full-time missionary to Central America and is a founding member of Mission Lazarus, also serving on Mission Lazarus’ board for 15 years. Emily is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, earning a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Abilene Christian University, a Master of Social Work from Boston University, and has completed doctoral hours at the University of Texas at Arlington. She has been married for 30 years to Cary, a Computer Scientist, teacher and scholar of Christian hymns.
Gil Odendaal, Ph.D, D.Min
SVP of Integral Mission Division
Prior to joining World Relief, Gil Odendaal served as the Global Director for PEACE Implementation with Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California as well as Global Director for the HIV/AIDS Initiative under Kay Warren. Gil has 30 years of ministry experience as a missionary, pastor, educator, leader and public speaker, including serving as Regional Coordinator for Africa, Russia and Easter Europe with Medical Ambassadors International. Gil serves on the Lausanne Movement Integral Mission leadership team as well as a board member of ACCORD Network. Gil and his wife, Elmarie, were born and raised in South Africa. They have three adult children and five grandchildren.
General Counsel/SVP of Human Capital
BBefore joining World Relief in 2013, Kathleen Leslie practiced law for 16 years as an associate and partner in a national litigation practice. She left private practice in 2009 to oversee operations at her local church in North Baltimore, also serving as consultant for international NGOs. She has a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics and a Juris Doctor from Penn State. A former world-ranked swimmer, Kathleen lives in Lutherville, Maryland with her husband, Eric, and two daughters, Katy and Devon.
SVP of Advocacy & Policy
Jenny Yang provides oversight for all advocacy initiatives and policy positions at World Relief. She has worked in the Resettlement section of World Relief as the Senior Case Manager and East Asia Program Officer, where she focused on advocacy for refugees in the East Asia region and managed the entire refugee caseload for World Relief. Prior to World Relief, she worked at one of the largest political fundraising firms in Maryland managing fundraising and campaigning for local politicians. She is co-author of Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion and Truth in the Immigration Debate, serves as Chair of the Refugee Council USA (RCUSA) Africa Work Group, and was named one of the “50 Women to Watch” by Christianity Today.
Director of Spiritual Formation
John Gichinga began at World Relief in 2008 after serving as the former Director of Church Mobilization in the World Relief Kenya Office. Having also led the 3,000 member Nairobi Baptist Church for over 30 years, John provides significant pastoral and leadership expertise as he serves as lead chaplain for all World Relief offices. John holds a M.A. in Inter-Disciplinary Studies from Wheaton Graduate School, as well as an M.A. of Philosophy in Christian Education from Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School. John first obtained a B.A. in Education at the University of Nairobi. John and his wife, Noel, have two daughters, Mwema and Rachel, as well as two grand-daughters, Mwendi and Makena.

As SVP of Strategic Engagement, James Misner helps churches, foundations and individuals stand with the vulnerable in the U.S. and around the world. Leading teams domestically and internationally, James seeks to facilitate meaningful cross-cultural experiences leading to deeper levels of discipleship. Prior to joining World Relief, James served on the pastoral staff at Wheaton Bible Church, leading global outreach efforts, and also on the outreach staff of McLean Bible Church. James received his undergraduate degree from American University and a Master's degree from Wheaton College. He lives in Maryland with his wife, Sabrina, and their family.
