Donate a Welcome Kit to a Newly Arriving Refugee Family
Welcome Kits are a collection of basic household goods given to newly arriving refugees by the World Relief volunteers introducing them to their new home. These kits help refugees start building a new life here in the United States, and are a great way for individuals and churches to help meet a practical need for refugees. When you sign up to provide a Welcome Kit, you’ll get an email with the all the resources you need to get started.
We would love for you to volunteer and spend time with refugees in your community. While we don’t track the Welcome Kits to specific families, each World Relief office offers other ways to foster personal connections with refugees. The Good Neighbor Teams program trains and introduces volunteers to a refugee family in need of friendship, community, belonging, and acceptance. To learn more, visit our Good Neighbor Teams section.

Welcome Kits are the first step in the longer journey towards helping a refugee family feel at home in the U.S. Their needs are varied, as our volunteers explain: “Some people need a soft word; some people need a couch; some people need a friend.” Watch the journey unfold for one family through the eyes of their assigned volunteers.
