Replanting Lives “I was a stranger and you invited me in…” Matthew 25:35
Would you have let me in? Every boy under age 2 was massacred. He was one who escaped. Jesus: The Refugee Have you ever considered that Jesus Himself was a refugee? His parents fled to Egypt in order to spare his life from an angry and vengeful king. When Joseph, Mary and Jesus finally arrived in Egypt, were they mistreated as aliens, foreigners...strangers? How many others were left behind to mourn the murder of their sons? How does Jesus’ refugee experience speak to us – His Church – today? In a parable, Jesus calls us to invite the stranger in… as though we were offering hospitality to Christ himself. Today, you and your church can help replant a life… a life very similar to the one Jesus himself experienced. In 2007, World Relief and local churches responded to Christ’s call by welcoming 5,280 people into their homes and communities. This year, we are inviting you to participate in a movement to welcome the strangers among us! World Relief equips local churches to answer Christ’s call to embrace America’s newcomers.
